Trademark Registration Process & Timeline
Before filing, we conduct a clearance search on the IP India portal to check for identical or confusingly similar marks in your class. This reduces the risk of objections and saves time.
We file Form TM-A online on the IP India portal. Govt fee: Rs. 4,500 (individual/startup) or Rs. 9,000 (others) per class per application. TM™ symbol can be used from this day.
The Trademark Examiner reviews the application. May issue an Examination Report raising absolute or relative grounds of objection.
If an objection is raised, we file a detailed Reply to the Examination Report within 30 days. A hearing may be scheduled. We represent you at the hearing.
If approved, the mark is published in the Trademark Journal for 4 months. Any third party may file an opposition during this period.
If no opposition is filed (or opposition is decided in your favour), the Trademark Registration Certificate is issued. ® symbol can be used from this date. Valid for 10 years.
